PhD in ecopsychosocial reclamation: Knowing, being and doing as dreamer, poet and poetry film
A dream-led arts-based enquiry, my PhD explores Medusa, an aspect of the ancient triples goddess, who whose embodied, relational, and ecological intelligence once protected the passage between worlds, of life–death–rebirth.
She was uncoupled from her full power and recast as 'monstrous' by the men who wrote her story; Hesiod, Ovid, Homer and all those who came after them.
She is more than a myth on a page or an image of a severed head. She is a threshold guardian and through a Martin–Mirraboopa Knowing–Being–Doing lens, I am engaging with her through embodied imagination, unearthing her voice and re-discovering her protective, initiatory and regenerative .
